Threads and first comments

Below the main post you can add follow-ups. What they become depends on the network:

  • Threads on X, Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon. The button reads Add to thread.
  • First comment on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Reddit. The button reads Add first comment, then Add comment.
  • If you picked both kinds of network, the button reads Add follow-up.
  1. Write your main post.

  2. Select Add first comment (or Add to thread).

  3. Write the follow-up. Add more if you need them.

  4. Optional: set a delay (1 minute to 2 hours, or a custom number of minutes) so the follow-up goes out a little after the main post.

On thread networks you can also Add a thread finisher: a closing post added at the end of every thread.

Available on X, Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon.

  1. Write your full text in the first post.

  2. Select Split into thread in the editor toolbar. It shows how many posts you’ll get (Becomes 4 posts).

  3. Tick Add numbering (1/4) if you want numbers at the end of each part.

  4. Select Split. The text is cut at sentence ends, within each network’s character limit.

If you save a post that’s too long for a thread network, PostNimbo offers to Split into thread for that channel.
